OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY & ENVIRONMENT

At The Sydney Boulevard Hotel, we are working under Accor towards a Sustainable Tourism Certification from Ecotourism Australia!

Ecotourism Australia plays a pivotal role in fostering the growth of the ecotourism sector in Australia by promoting sustainable tourism and enhancing industry knowledge.

As a recognised leader in sustainable tourism, Ecotourism Australia inspires and supports through global best practices and strategic collaborations. We have an unwavering commitment to minimising environmental impact while enhancing benefits for our community, culture, and local economy.

We are committed to ensuring every aspect of your stay is thoughtfully designed to minimise our environmental footprint. From our multi-use bathroom amenities (ongoing plan) to our locally sourced dining and beverages, indulge in our hospitality while making a positive impact on the planet.

Our Sustainability Commitments:

  • Multi-Use Amenities: Say goodbye to single-use plastics in our bathrooms for all standard rooms. We’re committed to reducing waste with large, multi-use amenities. As we work towards our future, we will ensure all our rooms remove single-use plastics.
  • Complimentary Filtered Water: Plastic water bottles can no longer be purchased or sold with us. Enjoy piped filtered water at our gymnasium, and our lobby, reducing plastic consumption one sip at a time. We also retail Waterbox Bottles made from sugarcane mulch for those on the move at our lobby or through room service.
  • Go Green Program: We do not clean your room till you request for up to 3 nights, an initiative of The Sydney Boulevard Hotel since 2023.
  • Reduced Plastic Amenities: We’ve removed single-use plastics such as toothbrushes, combs, and shower caps from our guest rooms to reduce our environmental footprint. Guests are able to request dry amenities through room service or online ordering for a more sustainable stay.
  • Locally Sourced Dining: Taste the difference with locally sourced produce served in our restaurants, bar and in-room dining, all sourced within NSW.
  • Future Projects: We’re not stopping here. Stay tuned for our food waste reduction initiatives, organic waste composting, energy efficiency, water reduction and Naber’s ratings inclusions because we’re committed to minimising our impact on the environment.

ACCOR CARBON TRACKER: The free tool that helps you accurately quantify the impact of your Stays and Events in all Accor hotels

In 2023, Accor strived to enhance its methodology for calculating Scope 3 emissions in order to overcome data challenges and to enhance the scalability of its carbon emissions calculation. It empowered internal stakeholders and the group to compute precise emissions data and monitor progress for each hotel on an annual basis.
